Just like the homes we build, our company itself was founded on relationships. After working together for years on building projects across the Upstate of South Carolina, our founding partners, Andy Atkins and Jeff Viney each expressed a desire to start a unique kind of building company. One that not only placed the highest priority on each client's complete satisfaction, but also looked at each new home as the beginning of a lasting relationship. As a result, the two joined forces in 2005 to form Meritus Signature Homes, one of the most trusted home builders in Seneca, Anderson, Greenville, Lake Keowee and the surrounding Upstate area. There are numerous home builders who pride themselves in the number of homes built. But as a premier custom home builder in South Carolina, we hold each home to be immensely special and valuable.

Under the leadership of Andy and Jeff, Meritus is quickly becoming one of the most well-respected and innovative custom home builders builders of custom homes in the Upstate of South Carolina, northwest Georgia, and western North Carolina.
 Andy AtkinsAndy oversees all the sales and marketing efforts for Meritus. Born and raised in Williamston, SC, he graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is licensed as a Residential Builder and Unlimited General Contractor in South Carolina. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the HBA of Oconee County. Andy enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, and their three sons. An avid sports fan (he played football at ETSU), he can also be seen cheering from the stands at Clemson University football and baseball games.
 Jeff Viney
Having built over 100 houses in his career to date, Jeff heads up all construction projects for Meritus across the Southeast region. He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Business Management. Jeff is married with 3 children, and enjoys spending time with family, as well as watching college football and basketball.
 Bobby Arflin
Bobby joined the Meritus family as a Sales Consultant in February of 2006. Bobby brings with him many years of experience in the home building industry. For the last 4 years he has been helping home owners with the many exciting decisions they must make during the building process. Bobby is a licensed home inspector through the state of South Carolina. Bobby is married and has one daughter. Bobby has two grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia. He is a lifelong resident of Belton.
 Garlan MizeGarlan came on board with Meritus Signature Homes as a Warranty Manager in October 2005. His great and varied experience makes him a great asset to the family. He began his career in home construction and warranty in 1970, backing his talents with over 35 years of experience and hard work. Garlan's skills include custom cabinetry making, having owned a custom-cabinet company at one time. He is also proficient in interior trim finish with 12 years subcontracting experience in that field. His many other skills include three years of electrical know-how and a background in the locksmith industry. Garlan is currently single and resides in Belton.
 Kris King
Kris has been with Meritus Signature Homes since August of 2005. At age 24, he is the youngest member of the Meritus family. Kris came to Meritus following what he believes is God's will for his life, which is being a Construction Technician for the time being. His goals right now are to complete college and become a Superintendent, but he will follow the Lord's lead wherever He may take him. Kris sees his job as a service to the Lord, and a ministry, as well as a service to the company, his superiors, and the customer.
 Lloyd Cox
Lloyd has been a builder with Meritus Signature Homes since August of 2005 and resides in Anderson, SC. He is 36 years old and married with three children. Lloyd brings with him to the Meritus family an abundance of talent and experience. He has built well over 500 homes and 200 town homes in his career. Much of his knowledge comes from years of working as a self-employed subcontractor. Lloyd has worked with several nationally-known and award winning builders in his time.
